Museum curator, horror writer, popular culture geek

Hello. I have worked in the heritage sector for 20 years initially as an assistant archaeologist but longer as a museum curator of ethnography (often cited as 'world cultures').

In my spare time, I use the subject of anthropology to better understand contemporary fringe beliefs that have their roots in older cultural traditions. I believe that these experiences - called UFO experiences - are part of something that acts as an agency for change.

However, I'm also a big fan of the horror, fantasy and science fiction genres and not being satisfied with just watching films, I go walking on the moor or the beach, write short stories, the occasional piece of poetry and dabble with the PS3.

I published A Different Sky (Bluecoat Press 2003) and have contributed short stories to four anthologies. I also edited my first volume of horror tales called Secret Invasion. This is to raise money for the UK charity MIND. This was a really big learning curve for ma and a great challenge. I'm now working on a second volume.
