David Bowie - Pop Icon, Film Star... And Spiritual Seeker

"Lord, Lord, my prayer flies, Like a word on a wing." You could be forgiven for thinking this is a sentence from a Sunday morning sermon. Or perhaps the lyrics of a venerable Gospel song. Instead, it was penned by one of the most creative singer songwriters of the 20th and 21st centuries...

All I Want for Christmas? To Feel God's Love!

At the heart of Christmas is the Bethlehem babe, who later went on to preach that we are to love our neighbours as ourselves. How Beholden Are We to Our Body Clocks?

I perceived that my ability to be where I needed to be, and do what I needed to do, was based on spiritual rather than material factors. And for me the key factor was understanding where my energy and alertness actually came from.

Is Love Actually All We Need?

Indeed, so magnanimous have some seen this spiritual Love to be, that an early follower of Jesus once said (emphasis added): "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

A Spiritual Response to Our 'Constant Inner Critic'

Rather than projecting assumptions of what should happen, I've found that rejecting such preconceptions is what helps open my mind to a divinely grounded expectancy of good. Doing this has proved practical to myself and many others in overcoming all kinds of limitation, including emotional and physical health meltdowns and even chronic identity crises.

Seven Reasons to Be Ready to Forgive

Far from resentment or revenge being sweet, then, they are bitter pills with an awful side effect. They cloud our sense of the more joyful, healthful, spiritual identity divinely inherent within us.

Homeopathy, Bebop and Other 'Revelations'

Noting a case in which she administered tiny doses of a solution containing "common table-salt" in which there wasn't "a single saline property left", she reportedly cured a patient who had been "sinking in the last stage of typhoid fever".

If It Heals You Does It Need to Be Measured?

In similar vein, stories of a health dividend from a "divine connection" - often called prayer - are slowly but surely being woven into the growing debate about the importance of life's immeasurables.

The Promise of Placebos - and the Promise Beyond?

"The placebo effect is real, quantifiable and in fact you're doing quite well with an active therapy if you can get as good a response as the placebo response," said Professor Jon Stoessl, director of the Pacific Parkinson's Research Centre at the University of British Columbia.

Seeking a New Route to Feeling Loved and Complete?

Indeed, love probably means as many different things as there are people - from the unselfish care of a Mother Teresa to the heart-pounding passion of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Yet with Valentine's Day upon us it's the romantic variety tugging at our heartstrings, especially if we lack that special someone to share it with.
