Varinder Singh Bola

Westminster based think-tanker

Varinder is employed as a Parliamentary Officer to the Nuclear Weapons Policy Liaison Group based in Westminster, London.

His work primarily focuses on nuclear weapon related issues. In the run up to the UK's 2015 General Election he was responsible for engaging parliamentarians and political parties in the debate on the renewal of UK's Trident nuclear weapon system.

Varinder has strong background of working in political and technical environments. He has worked in a senior role for a Member of Parliament and serves as a Councillor in the London Borough of Redbridge. Varinder was previously a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of the National Union of Students, and for Community Transport Waltham Forest.

Prior to this, Varinder worked on pan-European initiatives in the aviation industry including the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programme at NATS (En-route) PLC in Hampshire and the Next Generation Composite Wing project at Airbus (UK) in Bristol.

Varinder holds a BSc(Hons) degree in Aerospace Technology with Management from the University of Hertfordshire.
