Dressage

| Posted 11.08.2012 | UK Sport

Another week, another attempt to better myself via the medium of sport and a pretend medal table. I must say, the fact that I'm the only person who's competed in every single sport yet still not managed to take the top spot on the table, is becoming a little humiliating.

Boxing

As mentioned in previous posts, for the last few weeks, I have been taking boxing lessons with Naomi Gibson, aka Girls in Gloves, at the very charming Body Studio in Shoreditch (which, if you're interested in having a go at boxing classes, but maybe put off by the prospect of a bunch of sweaty brutes leering at you, is a really friendly and non-intimidating venue to try it out).

Football

I'm really not qualified to go into any real detail on the match in which I have participated. Though I did rip off a few choice phrases from Alan Hansen's Match of the Day punditry, in my youth, and I still wheel them out from time to time.

Water Polo

It's pretty difficult to run a water polo team. It's an expensive sport because you have to hire a pool, and it can't just be any old pool, it has to be deep enough for you not to be able to stand up in. It's also not a particularly mainstream sport in the UK, so I guess people aren't going to be naturally inclined to seek it out. So then, how do you get the funding if the demand isn't great?
