Ben Cotton spent nearly a decade working for leading design and lifestyle publications such as Wallpaper*magazine in London. A collector and avid enthusiast of contemporary art, he decided in late 2007 to move away from the security of the publishing sector to pursue his passion with a career in the visual arts.

Beginning in early 2008 by establishing Hang-Up Pictures an online art gallery representing exciting underground talent and highly collectible street artists, Ben also organised high profile exhibitions to gain prominent recognition for Hang-Up artists. In 2012 Hang-Up took on a permanent gallery space in Stoke Newington, London. The neighbourhood gallery presents a monthly curated exhibition programme from leading young contemporary artists.
