Christiana Figueres is the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Climate Change secretariat and, as part of her role, is responsible for driving forwards the annual UN climate change conferences intended to broker international consensus on limiting climate change.

She is particularly concerned with the human impacts of climate change and is committed to inspiring action by highlighting the positive initiatives that are already being undertaken around the world to mitigate or adapt to climate change. Many of the most promising schemes are highlighted by an annual Momentum for Change 'Lighthouse Activities' initiative that shines the light on real, successful projects whether undertaken by social entrepreneurs, organised communities, governments, development agencies or the private sector.

She intends to use this blog to discuss the climate change challenges people around the world are already facing and to highlight the important work that is already underway to help inspire action.
