This Wednesday, 25 March at 10pm on Challenge TV, TNA will be taking viewers behind the scenes of British Boot Camp 2. In a show which promises exclusive backstage footage and interviews, we will see what it was like for winner Mark Andrews and finalists Grado, Kay Lee Ray, Noam Dar, Dave Mastiff and Rampage Brown working in some of the UK's biggest arenas during the 'Maximum Impact 7' tour.
Speaking exclusively to Royal Ramblings about the show, series one winner Rockstar Spud was confident it would be a good watch. "Its one thing to work behind the scenes on the tours but it's another to look at the journeys of six people whose journey you followed for eight weeks on Television". "You get to see how they interact with the situation they're in on the tour, on the big stage with thousands of people around" said Spud. "So I'm really looking forward to it. I've seen some of it and it's highly entertaining because of the cast. As standard, Grado's always up to mischief" he continued. "It's just nice to see, there's a whole host of TNA stars that are on it as well. By God we even managed to get Jeremy Borash in a wrestling ring!"
Asked if TNA had made the right choice by selecting Mark Andrews as the season 2 winner, Spud was equally confident. "I think so" he said. "Mark's a really wonderful talented kid. He's a very positive guy and he's young. He has untapped ability and if he's around good people, he'll learn more and more because you only get better when you work and are around better people". "I hope good things happen for him because he's a real good kid and he works really hard. That's what you want, that passion and it's really great to see it in someone that young". "He's got so much talent and ability, I think he'll do amazing!"
Filmed in late January in Glasgow, Manchester and London -TNA cameras captured exactly what happens when the young British wrestlers mixed it up with some of the world's top talent. One of those talents EC3, again speaking exclusively to Royal Ramblings about the show, was complimentary about those that hadn't taken the top spot. "The show had a lot of talent that didn't make the final cut - we only had one winner but we have a lot of prospects out of it that you could see a future for here in TNA" he said. "It's an opportunity for them both to put themselves out there and to get noticed and it's an opportunity for us to keep eyes on who we like" he said. TNA's head honcho, president Dixie Carter added that the show would "...bring a newfound respect for the grit and determination of these remarkable athletes and entertainers.
The special is set to answer many of the questions that have been on fans' lips ever since the critically-acclaimed Boot Camp 2 series ended in December. These include how well received winner Mark Andrews was on his debut as part pf the TNA roster, whether the Scottish sensation Grado managed to get revenge over Al Snow, the judge who dumped him from the show and whether any of the remaining stars would be lucky enough to sign up as full-time TNA roster members.
The show features insight from top TNA personalities including Magnus, Rockstar Spud, Ethan Carter III, Robbie E, Josh Matthews, Christy Hemme and Brooke, plus the return of a couple of favourite faces from the Boot Camp series. We'll be watching it and so should you!
TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 on Tour will be broadcast at 10pm on Wednesday March 25 on Challenge, and repeated at midnight on Sunday March 29. Challenge is available on Freeview channel 46, Sky channels 125 and 164 and Virgin Media channel 139.
