David Singleton is a journalist specialising in political communications and lobbying. He is associate editor of PR Week magazine in the UK, part of Lord Heseltine’s Haymarket Media Group.

Prior to his current role, David was PR Week’s news editor and chief political reporter, responsible for a string of scoops exposing the inner workings of Downing Street.

Since graduating from the University of Liverpool, David has also worked for The BBC, The Guardian, The Independent and various social policy magazines. In 2009, he set up the publicaffairscentral.com blog.

News of the World Closure does not let Cameron off the Hook

David Cameron had been hoping he could keep a safe distance from the scandal engulfing News International.

As things stand he is struggling to do so and the closure of the News of the World does nothing to bolster the Prime Minister's position.
