Dick Fiddy is a TV consultant for the British Film Institute and The Guinness Book of World Records. He has written many articles and books on television, including ‘Missing Believed Wiped’ (BFI Books 2001, Kaleidoscope Publishing 2011) which listed examples of British Television material missing from the official archives and detailed the ongoing search to retrieve it. He is also the contributing editor to The Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy and is currently working on a second edition of Missing Believed Wiped.

Dick Fiddy has also written creatively for television, contributing sketches for Not the Nine O’Clock News and The Dave Allen Show and (with his then writing partner Mark Wallington) writing the sitcoms Little Armadillos (C4 1984) and All Night Long (BBC 1994). He also wrote and developed the C4 programmes The A to Z of TV (1990) and 1001 Night of TV (1991) and was the chief researcher/consultant on the C4 series TV Heaven (1992). He continues to be a contributor to many archive documentaries.

Peter Cook - who would have been 75 this year - was one of the brightest stars in a constellation of comedic talent that emerged from the Oxbridge tradition and revolutionised humour in the 1960s.

Times and tastes change but Cook's blistering wit has stood the test of time...
