My Week With Ken

Posted: 29/12/2012 00:00

I am proud to have spent the week with Ken Livingstone on his campaign to be elected Mayor of London on 3 May, getting the message out there to Londoners about Ken's Fare Deal.

The mayoral election on 3 May will be a clear choice for Londoners, between a mayor who will represent and fight for the interests of ordinary Londoners in hard times - a mayor for the 99% - or a mayor driven by his own personal ambition, committed to representing his 1%.

Ken knows what matters to ordinary Londoners, and what matters most whilst so many families are feeling the strain of being hit by a double whammy of squeezed income and increasing living costs. Ken will fight for the interests of the majority now, cutting fares by 7%, saving the average Londoner £1000 over the next four years, which will put an extra £4 in Londoners' pockets every week.

Boris on the other hand is responsible for once again this year raising bus, tube, and train fares above inflation. What's more if re-elected he remains committed to raising fares every year for the next four years. Under his watch bus fares have risen by a whopping 50%. Londoners can't afford Boris.

Whilst out with Ken this week I have witnessed the sense of urgency and passion behind the support for him on the streets. Londoners need a Mayor who will be there when things are tough and when they get even tougher, speaking up for Londoners, putting them first. Ken is in this for Londoners. London needs him.

Ken's as bent as a nine bob note, he gives the impression he's all for Londoner's, but hes in it for as much as he can get... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2123395/How-man-people-Ken-enjoyed-lifestyle-jet-setting-executive--taxpayer.html

Ken is in it for Ken, never been any different, if the London public get something as well then hey! it's a bonus.

Sorry Eddie, but I think you should remain on stage and out of politics. I have seen up close what Ken Livingston represents, and sanity isn't in that selection. This is the guy that was trying to force a tramline into Ealing and surroundings and all sorts of scandalous tactics were used (such as selectively polling residents that would not be affected) to justify destroying traffic flow and a staggering amount of mature trees, just so there there could be an expressway to a new to be established shopping centre.

It only came to a grinding halt when I asked the people involved which route emergency services would use. They hadn't thought of that - at all..

Another Ken "feature" is his well documented hate of cars - yet he happily ran up a massive bill using taxis. This is why he came up with the bendy buses - not because they would help London, but because they would hinder cars. It's taken millions to get rid of that debacle, and you want to suggest we should let this idiot do some more damage? That's almost as bad as getting Tony Blair back in parliament, let alone MP..

Would it be fair to ask, if, the cost of fuel, wages etc had anything to do with increase in bus fares. Either way, regardless of whor gets in London will have a mayoral figure with a personality and good for a laugh.

London Mayor is irrelevant. Fare increases etc. are due to inflation caused by quantative easing aka money printing.

As for Ken, the only thing worse than a marxist is a cultural marxist.

Vote for Ken at your peril.

For the good of London he must be kept OUT.

No way - Ken must be kept OUT!

Cutting through the prejudice and nonsense, in Ken Livingstone we have a professional politician to take-over the administration of London. Someone with a wealth of experience and an ability to meet and converse, negotiate and argue with anyone at any level. Livingstone has proven expertise unlike the present incumbent who has untidy hair and an untidy mind. This is not a job for amateurs!

Who was Mayor when Stephenson was employing ex News of the World pal? Ken. His oversight of Met was not good.

I agree, no one is perfect. But to run one of the most important cities in the world that is also a global air traffic hub, it needs a consummate professional. That is what we have in Livingstone. That he has his opponents in various ethnic groups, is accepted and acceptable. The important factor is experience, maturity and integrity, and he has more than most. By comparison, some of his fellow politicians such as Cameron and Osborne look more like schoolboys each day.

I liked Eddie Izzard better when he was chubby with bad make up doing stand up. Now he gets a little celebrity on a cancelled US show and he thinks he is knowledgeable about things. It's annoying already.

Oh, I forgot to add - he is also a tax dodging hypocrite. Who lies, repeatedly.

Throw him out of Labour.
02:06 PM on 03/29/2012
You're kidding, right?

I'm a dyed in the wool Labour party member. A member for over 20 years. I've never not voted Labour, even tactically. I was my ward secretary for a while. Pounded the pavements calling for a Labour victory, again and again.

Ken Livingstone does not get my vote.

He's a supporter of Qaradawi, the extremist preacher who tells his followers to commit suicide bombing murders of civilians, and says that one day he hopes to punish the Jews, like Hitler did.

He brought Socialist Action trots into his administration

He smeared Peter Tatchell with public money

He appointed cronies to positions of power

He supported candidates running AGAINST Labour

He attacked Labour figures

NO WAY am I voting for Ken Livingstone. He is poison, and he will bring the Labour Party down.

My real question is: when are we going to expel him?
