I think everyone should be able to move past their hang-ups and head out for their dreams; be that going for a promotion, moving to a new place, starting a completely new venture or just feeling comfortable going to their local and getting a beer. I’ve found my combination of hypnotherapy, NLP, yoga and counselling techniques can be really effective in helping people get to that place.

I hold a degree in Human Resource Management, and worked successfully in HR for five years before retraining in therapy. I am also a full member of the CIPD (professional body for people working in business psychology fields), a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and a student member of the National Counselling Society.

I have worked with clients and coaches in the UK, Italy, the USA and Australia, including consultants at PwC and Project Workers at Barnardos, and the buzz it gives me to see people moving forward is pretty awesome!

Three Ways to Tell if You're Suffering From 'Analysis Paralysis'

(0) Comments | Posted 12 August 2012 | (17:30)

I love this phrase. Unfortunately I don't think I hear it enough. Maybe I don't hear it enough because people don't actually have it, but I don't think that's true.

I was on a call this week with Marianne Cantwell over at Free Range Humans and she was talking...

So, I was talking to Ash over at The Middle Finger Project recently and she reminded me of something -

Life's all about the buzz.

How to Make More Time

(0) Comments | Posted 22 April 2012 | (11:30)

I wrote a list once of the stuff I needed to get done in a day...it scared me quite a lot.

I have no doubt at all that if you're reading this now, you've managed to squeeze in 5 mins between doing the washing, cooking dinner, writing a report and...

No (Wo)man is an Island

Sometimes things don't come easy. Sometimes life's hard. In those times, inspiration people rally together and pick each other up. Tell their war stories and remind each other why they're doing what they do.

You need a community. You need your own inspiration. It doesn't have to be my community,...

Focusing the Eyes to Calm the Mind With Yoga

(0) Comments | Posted 15 April 2012 | (18:52)

Drishti (focus) is something people often forget about. Not just in yoga, but in life generally.

Anyone who's ever done board sports knows that where you look, you go. I found this out one too many times by surfing straight in to someone because I was looking at them rather...

Why I Want to Spend a Month on a 1" Mattress, and Pay for the Privilege!

(0) Comments | Posted 8 April 2012 | (09:37)

So back in January I posted my 2012 predictions, not because I particularly believe in New Year Resolutions, but because I wanted to make stuff happen this year and wanted to make sure I held myself accountable.

In that post, I promised that by the...

Yoga Gets in to Medical Schools!

(0) Comments | Posted 1 April 2012 | (08:37)

This week I thought I'd bring you a bit of news from the yoga world. I try to keep up to date with stuff but there's so many amazing things going on everyday it's not that easy.

This caught my attention though. I've recently come across Heather Mason as probably...

How to Turn Your Biggest Weakness into Your Biggest Strength

(0) Comments | Posted 18 March 2012 | (08:55)

We've probably all been asked at some stage in our lives, 'What's your biggest weakness?' and 'What's your biggest strength?'. They seem to be standard interview questions that people reel out knowing full well everyone knows you're supposed to make sure your weakness could actually be turned in to a...

On Finding Inspiration

(0) Comments | Posted 18 March 2012 | (08:49)

Last weekend I spent the weekend in Wales with my Nana and my parents to celebrate her 90th Birthday. 90. Can you imagine? She was born in the 1920s. That's us all in the photo.

Today I wanted to talk about inspiration and in...

Recognising and Releasing Resistance

(0) Comments | Posted 10 March 2012 | (16:37)

I sat, staring in the mirror, amazed at what I had discovered. I was my own worst enemy. I was the one holding me back. For some unknown reason, my subconscious was creating barriers, blocking me from achieving what I wanted to achieve.

It sounds strange but this self-defeating phenomenon,...

The Curious Person's Guide to Mindfulness

(2) Comments | Posted 6 March 2012 | (00:00)

I am loving my daily yogasana and yoga nidra routine at the moment and would totally recommend it in a second, but I also know that it doesn't appeal to everyone. You may have heard mindfulness being thrown around all over the place though.

Think You Should be Doing Something Else?

(0) Comments | Posted 4 March 2012 | (08:43)

Is there something you wish you could do, or be, or go see... But you can't because of whatever reason?

Whenever you're doing something which isn't really what you want to be doing, you create resistance and tension within yourself. This is what causes a lot of people's health issues.

Creating my Personal Mission Statement

(0) Comments | Posted 25 February 2012 | (21:10)

This post is all about making decisions from a principle centred place.

As you may know, I'm in the process of reading 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People' by Steve Covey. I have to say, reading it on the tube (London Underground trains for my US readers), I haven't...

The Yoga Experiment - Part 1

(0) Comments | Posted 25 February 2012 | (19:07)

For the past week and a half I have been diligently listening to a Yoga Nidra audio by Swami Muktibodhanana Saraswati and promised last week to continue it for a month and post my experiences online.

Previously, I have only ever had one yoga nidra session, done in an extended...

Devon, Yoga and Planning

(0) Comments | Posted 16 February 2012 | (13:33)

At the moment I'm in Devon, enjoying a week away with nothing to do except yoga, reading, getting spa treatments and sit in the private hot-tub that comes with the cottage.

I find it really hard to relax properly. I give people the impression I'm awesome at it, but really,...

Facing Your Fears

(0) Comments | Posted 8 February 2012 | (21:13)

This is the story of how my dad conquered his fear.

I was on holiday with my parents and my brother. Yes it might be a strange thing for a 20-something to do, but it's become a bit of a tradition. Every year, for the past seven years, we've come...

What's Holding You Back?

(0) Comments | Posted 7 February 2012 | (21:05)

I recently went through some dramatic life changes, spurred on by seemingly overnight life-altering decisions, taken by me, and although it seemed like these decisions had literally taken years to make, once I had actually made them and committed to them, everything seemed to start flowing the right direction and...

Are You Who You Say You Are?

(0) Comments | Posted 7 February 2012 | (21:02)

Are you being genuine? Or are you acting out a part; being who you think people want you to be?

This is a question I've found myself asking a lot recently. I'm sure we've all done it before - talked ourselves up at interviews, put on a slightly posher 'telephone'...

How Badly Do You Want It?

(0) Comments | Posted 7 February 2012 | (20:57)

There is a common misconception that if you want something really badly, you have to work super duper hard to get it. I'd like to challenge this idea.

The whole concept of the law of attraction tells us that the universe is abundant i.e. there is more than enough of...

Fed up of Being Pigeon-Holed?

I know that you will have been inundated with 'It's Christmas!' messages over the past week or so and I do genuinely hope everyone has at least one fond memory of time spent with loved ones over this festive period.

However, that's not what this post is about.
