Emma Hutton is Human Rights Director for the Equality and Diversity Forum (EDF), a network of more than 50 national charities and civil society organisations working together to advance equality, human rights and social justice. The network includes large charities like Age UK, Scope and Citizens Advice, respected campaign groups like the Runnymede Trust, Liberty and the Fawcett Society, as well as trade unions and civil society networks. Founded in 2002, EDF enables its members to speak with one voice on issues of common interest, while maintaining and enriching their individual areas of expertise.

EDF’s vision is of a society in which everyone can fulfil their potential and make a distinctive contribution; where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and where your chance to flourish is not limited by who you are or where you come from. We share a deep commitment to the values and principles of human rights for everyone, everywhere. Our human rights work focuses on building public support for these values and principles, helping people to see how human rights matter to all of us in our everyday lives and influencing policy to find better ways to strengthen the safety net created by our human rights laws.
