Lady Gaga 'To Cover Amy Winehouse Song' To Help Charity Foundation

'Stars all over the world are going to do an Amy track...'

Lady Gaga is reportedly set to cover an Amy Winehouse classic, in an attempt to raise money for the late singer’s charity.

Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, has revealed that he’s in the process of launching a new YouTube channel, where a host of artists will put their spin on his daughter’s songs, with proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up in 2011, months after the ‘Back To Black’ singer’s death from alcohol poisoning, with the specific intention of raising awareness of drug and alcohol abuse in young people, as well as helping disadvantaged young people get into music.

Lady Gaga has repeatedly spoken about her admiration for Amy Winehouse in the past, tweeting after her death: “Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.”

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer recently teamed up with Mark Ronson - who famously produced Amy’s critically-acclaimed ‘Back To Black’ album - for her upcoming fifth release, which she has now revealed will be called ‘Joanne’.
