Asda has recalled a children’s Disney fancy dress costume amid fears over a risk of “strangulation”.
The ‘Disney Buzz Lightyear Sound Effect Costume’ does not carry the appropriate hazard warning label on the product, according to the supermarket.
“This outfit is not suitable for younger children under 36 months due to the potential of the attached cord on the wings presenting a strangulation hazard,” stated Asda’s product recall.
Asda has advised parents who have already purchased the costume to return it to their nearest store, where they will be given a full refund.
Shoppers will not need a receipt to return the costume.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused,” the statement by Asda read.

The costume is no longer available for sale on Asda’s website.
