A driver has been pulled over after patching up his smashed car window with blue plastic sheeting - leaving only a small hole to see his mirror.
Police stopped the vehicle shortly after midday on Saturday in Northampton after receiving reports of the bizarre installation, which was held together by tape.
Despite the improvised solution obscuring almost all of his view out of the driver’s side window of the white Toyota, officers said the driver “thought it was actually OK”.
PC Dave Lee, who took a picture of the car, which was stopped on Wellingborough Road, commented on Twitter that it was an “interesting concept”.
The Safer Roads Team officer for Northamptonshire added the driver had been written to by the central ticket office and could face a fine or a court appearance.
