Former ‘Emmerdale’ star Paul Loughran has become the latest actor to switch soaps, by bagging a ‘Coronation Street’ role.
Paul found fame as the Dales’ Butch Dingle, and in ‘Corrie’ he’ll star as Craig Tinker’s dad.
His character Darryl will arrive have some explaining to do when he arrives in Weatherfield, and viewers will reportedly see him reveal to his son that he has been in and out of prison.
A soap insider tells Metro.co.uk: “Paul has filmed some scenes as Darryl and there is huge drama ahead for the Tinkers as Craig comes face to face with his dad.”
Fan favourite Butch Dingle was killed off in ‘Emmerdale’ back in 2000, in a dramatic minibus crash.
After leaving the soap, he landed a number of small roles, in shows including ‘The Bill’, ‘Blue Murder’ and ‘Heartbeat’.
More recently, he starred in ‘Jericho’ alongside Jessica Raine.
