Coronation Street’s Rana Habeeb is set to have her heart broken when boyfriend Zeedan Nazir calls off their engagement.
In scenes to air on the ITV soap next week, Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) will realise he can no longer marry Rana, after watching the breakdown of his grandparents’ marriage.
As he sits her down to drop the bombshell, Rana is deeply hurt and tells him she never wants to see him again.
Could this really be it for the couple?
‘Corrie’ fans recently saw Zeedan’s grandfather Sharif leave the Street, after his secret affair with family friend Sonia exposed, leaving his wife Yasmeen devastated.
Actor Marc Anwar was dismissed from the soap with immediate effect in September, after he posted a series of racially offensive comments on Twitter.
His abrupt exit meant he was not able to film any final scenes, with his departure explained on screen by Yasmeen receiving a letter from Sharif, explaining he had left Weatherfield for good.
‘Coronation Street’ airs these scenes on Monday 28 November at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
