Man Shares Poignant Lesson About Marrying 'The One'

Committing to love one person for the rest of your life can make marriage a huge and terrifying commitment. But for husband Dale Patridge that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The author and business coach recently shared a touching Facebook post about why men who worry about being stuck with β€˜just one woman’ for the rest of their lives need to approach marriage in a different way.

In the post, shared on 4 November, Partridge wrote: β€œMen are so worried that marriage will leave them with β€˜only one woman’ for the rest of their lives. That’s simply not true.

β€œI fell in love with a 19 year-old rock climber, married a 20 year-old animal lover, started a family with a 24 year-old mother, then built a farm with a 25 year-old homemaker, and today I’m married to a 27 year-old woman of wisdom.”

He continued: β€œIf your mind is healthy, you’ll never get tired of β€˜one woman’. You’ll actually become overwhelmed with how many beautiful versions of her you get to marry over the years.

β€œDon’t say no to marriage, say yes and keep saying yes until the day you die.”

Partridge’s heartwarming message has been well received online, with more than 500,000 reactions and 275,000 shares. It also inspired others to share their stories of love.

Kelly Martin wrote: β€œBeen married to the same old gal for nearly 40 years, why in the hell would anyone want more than one woman?

β€œShe has been all I want or need [for] as long as I can remember.”

Barry Sadler added: β€œI don’t believe any man would be worried about only having one woman. Only a boy would. No greater gift from God is a woman to cherish and honour. Talk about feeling power. To make someone happy just by your presence has the greatest value of all.”
