Danniella Westbrook Apologises Over Latest 'EastEnders' Outburst

'I want to apologise for that & wish it was over'

Danniella Westbrook has publicly apologised, after taking a swipe at an unspecified ‘EastEnders’ cast member, during a TV appearance on Tuesday (17 May) night.

In an interview on ‘Up Late With Rylan’, Danniella became emotional when she claimed that one of her ‘EastEnders’ co-stars had spread a false rumour to the press that she’d had her brief comeback to the soap cut prematurely short, due to unprofessional behaviour on her part.

Insisting that she had only ever been contracted to appear in four episodes of the soap, she added: I was fine on set.

However, despite suggesting that a member of the ‘EastEnders’ press office had told her that a co-star was responsible for leaking her story, she has now set the record straight on social media, revealing this is not strictly the case.

On Wednesday morning, she told her Twitter followers : “I wasn't told personally it was a cast member by the BBC press office that sold the story. J want to apologise for that and wish it was over [sic]."

Danniella will be returning to ‘EastEnders’ as Sam Mitchell in the near future, for the funeral of her on-screen mum, Peggy Mitchell (played by Dame Barbara Windsor).

Earlier this week, she hit out at the show once again, claiming she felt short-changed in not being able to share the screen with Dame Barbara and fellow returning actor Ross Kemp, and suggesting she’d rather appear in ‘Emmerdale’ than make another Albert Square comeback.
