‘EastEnders’ fans have been given a sneak peek at Thursday’s (19 May) episode, in which Phil Mitchell will discover that his mother, Peggy, has died.
On Tuesday, viewers saw Peggy take her own life, despite insisting to Phil, and his brother Grant, that she wouldn’t.
In the new clip, Phil is devastated to discover Peggy is dead, and he's set for a difficult time ahead as he struggles to cope with the news.
Sharon will step up to support the family, as they prepare to say goodbye at the funeral, which will air later this month.
Barbara Windsor’s final episode was praised by many fans of the show, though the suicide storyline divided the opinions of various charities.
While the Samaritans, who worked with the soap’s team on the episode, have praised it, another organisation has criticised the fact Peggy’s suicide storyline spanned the length of just one episode.
