Girl, 8, Seriously Injured In Edinburgh ‘Stabbing’

An injured 48-year-old woman was also found at the same address.

An eight-year-old girl and a 48-year-old woman have been seriously injured following an incident in Edinburgh.

Police were called to an address in Danube Street at around 1.30am on Wednesday.

The child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children where she remains in a critical condition. Specialist detectives are currently supporting her family.

The BBC cites reports that the girl suffered stab wounds.

The woman, whose injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “She has now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with this incident.”

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
