Police at the scene at Breighton airport near Selby, north Yorkshire, where five people have been seriously hurt in a helicopter crash at the aerodrome.

Five people have been seriously injured in a helicopter crash at Breighton airport near Selby, Humberside Police have said.

Emergency services are at the scene, reports the Press association.

 

Humberside Police were called to the scene at Breighton airport near Selby at 6.07pm.

A force spokesman said the injuries are serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two people were taken by air ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary and Leeds General Hospital, while three others were driven to hospital.

The force spokesman said: “Numerous emergency services were in attendance.

“The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) will be leading the investigation to establish what caused the crash.”
