'I'm A Celebrity': Scarlett Moffatt Has Been Emailing Stephen Hawking With Her Theories On Time Travel

She actually believes the Egyptian pyramids are from the future.

Some things are guaranteed to happen during every series of ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’, like someone donning a white bikini in the jungle shower, or someone eating kangroo anus.

However, one thing we certainly weren’t expecting to see this year was Scarlett Moffatt revealing she’s been emailing Stephen Hawking with her theories on time travel. Yet somehow, this is a thing that’s actually happened.

The ‘Gogglebox’ star has told her campmates of how she’s been in touch with the celebrated scientist to share her belief the Egyptian pyramids are from the future.

The revelation came during Wednesday (16 November) show, as Sam Quek told Scarlett of how starstruck she was when she met Stephen at a recent awards ceremony.

Chipping in, Scarlett told her campmates: “I once emailed him because I had a theory about time travel.”

Going on to explain her hypothesis, she continued: “In order to travel back in time we have to go faster than the speed of light. The speed of light is like 319 and then loads of numbers, it’s exactly the same latitude point as the tip of the great pyramid.

“So I think the pyramids are from the future,” she claimed. “I think someone from the future realised we would need them and went back in time and built them.”

“And you contacted Stephen Hawkins with this theory?” asked Lisa Snowdon.

“Well I was trying to look for his email address but it was a Hotmail account so I’m not too sure it’s real,” said Scarlett.

Amazing.

Of course, this isn’t the first time she has outed herself as a Stephen Hawking fan, as she previously confessed to fancying the physicist.

She told Heat magazine earlier this year: “I do have a crush on Fred Sirieix from ‘First Dates’, and Stephen Hawking. I just want someone funny and hard-working.”

The latest episode of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ also saw Scarlett and Carol Vorderman take on the Big Bush Bake Off Bushtucker Trial, where the ‘Goggleboxer’ had us in stitches with her facial expressions.

‘I’m A Celebrity’ continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
