Irish Rowers Paul And Gary O'Donovan Give The Best Interview Of The Rio Olympics So Far

Silver medal for rowing but gold medal for comedy.

If you watch one thing from the Olympics, it’s Paul and Gary O’Donovan’s brilliant interview following their Rio 2016 performance.

The Irish rowers, who won silver in the men’s lightweight double sculls, told RTE that they were enjoying their new-found fame - but were actually a bit disappointed to be missing out on the celebrations.

They opened their interview asking “what’s the craic” and went on to discuss “podium pants”, urine tests and signing autographs.

But the lads are no one-hit wonder. When approached by Sir Steve Redgrave and John Inverdale for an interview for the BBC, they quipped “we’ll have to be careful what we say to these lads”.

The win has given Ireland its first medal of the 2016 games.
