Although Justin is American, his new song was co-written by Swedish music producers Max Martin and Shellback, who together have helmed pop gems like Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem’, Pink’s ‘So What’, Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ and Adele’s latest single ‘Send My Love (To Your New Love)’.

Eurovision 2016 producer Sven Stojanovic gushed: “This is a fantastic opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake will perform his new song together with his band in our show.

“It makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with Justin Timberlake.”

This is one of several firsts for Eurovision 2016, which will is also set to make its debut on American television this year.

The contest has also introduced a new voting system to help decide who will be crowned the next champion of Eurovision, which will be put into practice for the first time during the live final.

Eurovision 2016 will be co-hosted by Swedish presenter Petra Mede, who will be joined by Måns Zelmerlöw, who won the competition for Sweden in 2015 with his song, ‘Heroes’.

Australia will also be competing in Eurovision for the second time this year, with Australian ‘X Factor’ winner Dami Im hoping to land a place in the live final with her track, ‘Sound Of Silence’.
