Katie Price has announced she is taking a break from ‘Loose Women’ to focus on her marriage to Kieran Hayler.
The star admitted she opened up old wounds during the process of promoting her a new autobiography, in with she details Kieran’s infidelity with her best friend.
Speaking on Friday’s (7 October) edition of ‘Loose Women’, Katie revealed she will be stepping out of the spotlight for a while to deal with her emotions.
“The most traumatic thing was me and Kieran. We had therapy and I thought I was OK,” she said.
“The past two weeks I’ve been on my book tour and it’s opened up some wounds. It’s been awful. I thought I’d dealt with it. I was numb when it all happened. I’m quite good at putting up a defence, but it’s been torture,” Katie revealed.
“I haven’t got any tears to cry. My heart is shattered, it’s broken. We’ve come two and a half years and Kieran is having to re-live it.”
Telling fellow panellists Kaye Adams, Linda Robson and Nadia Sawalha she and Kieran will be going to seeing a therapist, she insisted that everything was ok with their marriage.
“I’m going away with Kieran on a belated honeymoon and to spend time with the kids,” she said. “I want to help Kieran through this as well. It’s been tough on us both. It’s been turbulent.”
She added: “It’s a relief to me to admit I’m not as strong as people think. Enough is enough. I have to let my barriers down.”
Katie joined the ‘Loose Women’ panel on a permanent basis back in January, and it is not currently known how long she will be off the ITV daytime chat show.
She previously claimed her new autobiography, ‘Reborn’, would give her “closure” over Kieran’s cheating, which saw him have a “full blown, sexual affair” with her best friend of 20 years, Jane Poultney.
In the book, she also detailed the moment she thought she’d killed Jane after discovering their affair.
