Mark Zuckerberg documented his daughter’s first steps in the only way he knew how - using the latest tech on Facebook.

In what could be the start of a new trend, the Facebook founder used a 360 video camera to film his daughter.

The camera was positioned to face Zuckerberg but can be dragged to see one-year-old Max walking towards him.

“When I was a baby and took my first steps, my mum wrote the date in a baby book,” the founder of Facebook wrote on the caption.

Zuckerberg continued: “When my sister’s children took their first steps, she recorded it with photos and videos.

“When Max started walking, I wanted to capture the whole scene with a 360 video so our friends and family can feel like they’re right there with us.”

The video shows Zuckerberg with his arms wide open getting his daughter to walk towards him for a hug. Viewers are able to watch Max as she slightly wobbles while she walks towards her dad.

The clip has been viewed more than 13 million times since it was shared on 16 December.

Mark Zuckerberg announced his wife, Priscilla Chan, had given birth to their first child together on 1 December 2015.
