With access to Earth’s best telescopes and most distant spacecraft, it’s no surprise that NASA’s space photography is unparalleled.

And the agency is already pretty good at making its images publicly available – but its archive just got a whole lot better.

NASA has recently launched its first GIF channel, and it’s just as mesmerising as you’d expect.

It includes more than 450 gifs, many of which include links to news stories, and it’s only going to get bigger.
