Nick Grimshaw On 'X Factor' Exit: 'I Quit Because It Was Too Much Work'

Juggling his Radio 1 breakfast show and live TV on weekends did not agree with Grimmy

Nick Grimshaw has opened up about his departure from ‘The X Factor’, revealing the real reason he quit his role on the judging panel.

After just one series acting as a judge on the ITV singing contest, Nick confirmed last month that he was stepping down from the role.

He’s now admitted that he made the tough decision to leave as he felt overworked juggling his job hosting the Radio 1 breakfast show, as well as serving as an ‘X Factor’ judge.

Nick isn’t the only of last year’s ‘X Factor’ cast who won’t be back this year, with presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack both revealing that they were bidding farewell to the show, after just one year at the helm.

Attention now turns to who’ll be filling Grimmy’s seat on this year’s panel, with former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson the current favourite, particularly after he admitted he fancied himself for the job.

Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Dermot O’Leary could be returning to present, with a question mark still hovering over whether Rita Ora will be back for a second year on the judging panel, alongside Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell.
