Notting Hill Carnival sees the streets of west London filled with the feather crowns and bejewelled bikinis of our dreams, and the 2016 festivities did not disappoint.

Held every August bank holiday weekend since 1966, the two-day party has its roots in the Caribbean carnivals of the early 19th century, which were held to celebrate the abolition of slavery.
