Man's Divorce Leaves Him With Nothing But The Dog, Inspires Something Beautiful

He turned a horrible experience on its head with the help of his pup.

When Rafael Mantesso’s wife left him on his thirtieth birthday, she took everything bar their bull terrier, Jimmy Choo.

Mantesso was left with no furniture, no decorations or photographs - just an empty, all-white apartment.

But rather than moping around, he decided to create something wonderful.

When Jimmy decided to take a quick nap near to one of the blank walls, Mantesso grabbed a marker and began to draw around the pup.

This then spiralled into an ongoing project that opened up a whole new world for Mantesso. Not only had he revived his passion for art, but he also learned to love life again.

Here are just some of his incredible drawings:

Mantesso's photographs gained popularity online and it wasn't long before Jimmy Choo's creative director Sandra Choi heard about the duo.

She was so enchanted by the drawings that she commissioned Mantesso to create a series of fun, tongue-in-cheek illustrations to decorate a selection of Jimmy Choo accessories.

Jimmy and his owner have also got their own book out which features a selection of new and classic images of the dog, as well as the pair's backstory.

One word: adorable.
