You Can Now Buy Your Salad From A Telephone Box

And the food looks delicious.

In 2016 we rarely leave the house without a mobile phone, but that doesn't mean we want to see red telephone boxes becoming extinct.

So we're very pleased to see an entrepreneur has found a new use for one of the traditional landmarks.

Ben Spier, founder or Spier's Salads, is now selling tasty lunches from inside a box in central London.

The telephone box, which is located opposite 43 Bloomsbury Square, opens every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

While the box may be smaller than any cafe we've ever seen it still offers a huge variety of salad.

A Typical Day's Menu Includes:

Roasted chicken with sumac, pomegranate molasses, chilli and sesame seeds

Baked salmon

Asparagus, feta, new potato, green beans and olives in a dijon mustard and sherry vinegar dressing

Nectarine, mozzarella, rocket and basil with a balsamic dressing

Watercress, radish, sun-dried tomato and carrot with sunflower seeds in a red wine vinegar dressing

Spinach, orange, olive, quinoa and basil salad

Avocado, messicani pasta, broad beans, cucumber, pumpkin seeds and coriander

Spier isn't the only person finding an ingenious use for disused telephone boxes.

He worked with Red Kiosk Company to gain permission to use his London box.

The company pairs entrepreneurs with boxes, helping them to obtain a retail license and get kitted out with all the equipment they need.

So far they've helped brighten up boxes in 20 UK destinations.
