When an angry-looking silverback gorilla comes charging right at you, you’d better hope that toughened zoo glass is the real deal.

This hair-raising scene was captured at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, and shows Kijito bounding towards a visitor who somewhat oddly remains perfectly deadpan throughout.

The male gorilla is one of several in the zoo’s two acres of space for great apes – the scene of a similar attack in April last year which saw one animal actually crack the glass.

Omaha.com writes it was the same 375lb specimen who was responsible for last year’s near miss.

Zoo officials said the strength of the glass meant that no one was ever in danger, though something tells us Kijito might be gearing up for a third go…
