However, he’s now hit back at this idea, insisting it’s actually the rest of the panel who are being overzealous when it comes to rating the contestants.
Craig also had a word of warning for this year’s ‘Strictly’ professionals, adding: “Some of the pro dancers are protecting their partners at the moment.
“It’s like I said a couple of Saturdays ago, Natalie Lowe could have put more Rumba in for Greg Rutherford. She was protecting him because his hip action isn’t particularly good so she tried to make him look better than he is.”
‘Strictly’ fans will recall the week in question, during which Craig gave Greg and Natalie just four points for their Rumba routine, with reports later claiming that the Olympic long-jumper kicked off backstage.
While Greg later downplayed the reports, Craig said: “I heard about it. If it was anything I said about his dancing then that’s really a bit silly because it’s me making a comment and you should never take anything personally.”
On Saturday night (19 November), the remaining seven contestants will perform live from Blackpool Tower, from 6.55pm on BBC One.
