'Strictly Come Dancing': Ore Oduba And Greg Rutherford Storm Leaderboard

Not the strongest start for Lesley Joseph, though.

Greg Rutherford and Ore Oduba were the top scorers in the first ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ live shows of the series.

Six of this year’s 15 couples made their dance floor debut in Friday night’s (23 September) live show, with both Greg and Ore racking up 27 points each of a possible 40, placing them immediately at joint top of the leaderboard.

Olympic gold medallist Greg and ‘Strictly’ pro Natalie Lowe performed an energetic jive to The Temptations’ ‘Get Ready’, which even saw the long-jumper putting his skills to good use, and leap-frogging over his partner.

BBC Sports presenter Ore similarly impressed when he and Joanne Clifton did the first tango of the series, to Sheppard’s ‘Geronimo’.

Sadly, Lesley Joseph got the lowest score of the evening from the judging panel, for her performance with professional partner Anton Du Beke.

Lesley and Anton danced the waltz to ‘What’ll I Do’, racking up a combined score of 23 points from the judging panel.

The ‘Birds Of A Feather’ star can breathe a sigh of relief though, as due to the fact it’s the first week of live shows, nobody will be sent home.

Despite the fact we have two stars currently at the top of the leaderboard, it’s definitely still all to play for, with nine more celebrities still to take to the dance floor in Saturday night’s (24 September) show… including Ed Balls’ live TV dancing debut, which promises to be telly gold.

Check out what songs the remaining stars will be dancing to here.
