Theresa May today turned the tables on Boris Johnson as she slayed him with a joke at the Tory Party Conference.

To raucous laughter from activists and MPs – particularly Brexit Secretary David Davis – the Prime Minister mocked Johnson from the platform.

After taking to the stage to deliver her first keynote speech as Tory leader, May surveyed the crowd before delivering the killer gag.

Talking about the questions facing the party as it gathered for it’s annual conference in Birmingham, she said: “Do we have a plan for Brexit? We do.

“Are we ready for the effort it will take to see it through? We are.

“Can Boris Johnson stay on message for a full four days? Just about.”

While Johnson looked on slightly bemused, Davis could barely control himself.

Johnson is usually the one who delivers the gags at Tory conference, and this year was no exception - making quips about the Kardashians, Snickers and French knickers.
