The star confirmed news of her reality TV comeback during an appearance on ‘Loose Women’ on Wednesday (3 August), after months of speculation.
“I was meant to be doing this series, but I couldn’t for personal reasons. But I am doing next series, yes,” she said.
“I’d love to come in as Lauren now, and see who Lauren is. Because no-one actually knows who I actually am.
“I’ve always been in a drama or a relationship on TV. Now it’s about me, I have no drama. I can be one of the girls and be more natural.”
Lauren was one of the ITVBe reality show’s original cast members when it launched in 2010, and her on-off relationship with Mark Wright defined her time on the series.
She quit the ‘TOWIE’ in 2012 to take part in ‘Dancing On Ice’, only to be voted off first in January 2013.
She later went on to become a ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemate in the summer of 2014, and most recently released a weight-loss DVD after dropping four stone.
Lauren also made a brief cameo appearance in the 2015 ‘TOWIE’ Christmas special.
News of her return comes as Billie Faiers announced she was quitting the show to focus on having more children and launching her own reality series.
‘TOWIE’ is currently airing on Wednesdays and Sundays at 10pm on ITVBe.
