The UK is set to accept 3,000 child refugees by 2020, echoing the Kindertransport initiative 77 years ago which saw thousands of vulnerable youngsters flee Hitler and set up home in Britain.

Last week saw the first arrivals of child refugees from Calais, prompting a furious backlash from some quarters concerned that they may be lying about their age or are even be “Trojan horse terrorists”.
