'X Factor' Contestant Causes Chaos At Auditions As They Break Into Judges' Room

It left host Dermot O'Leary in an 'eggy' situation.

One ‘X Factor’ contestant has risked seriously getting on the wrong side of the judges, after breaking into the audition room, having had enough of waiting to see them.

In scenes to air in the new series of the ITV talent show, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh are left shocked when one determined hopeful sneaks behind the scenes at the try-outs, unexpectedly emerging before them while another contestant was auditioning.

It made for a very awkward situation for host Dermot O’Leary, who was left trying to play peacemaker in all of it.

“In her defence she got told she wasn’t going to be able to be seen that day,” he explained. “And for me it’s really awkward because I’m with someone else’s friends and family and they are going, ‘Who’s that girl?’, so I had to usher them to one side and then this girl’s family, who are hard core Scousers, start cheering her on.

“All-in-all it was a rather eggy situation. Part of me thought, ‘Good on you’ but then I had to play politics with this other family. I was trying to be peacemaker but it was hard that day.”

However, it seems the judges were much more impressed with her covert operation, with her tenacity winning them over.

Simon said: “She was fantastic because she found her way through the back of the stage, got in front of us and that’s exactly the sort of person I like working with, someone who’s a bit naughty and breaks the rules.”

Sharon added: “When she first came in I was a bit frightened actually. She walked in and came right over to the desk and I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, alert, alert!’. But she was ballsy! It takes a lot to do that.”

It is not the only out-of-the-ordinary antics to happen during the audition rounds, as viewers will also see the first-ever ‘X Factor’ engagement happen on the show.

“I like it when things like that happen on the show, it’s interesting,” Simon said.

“I was thinking what would have happened if we had said no to them!”

‘The X Factor’ returns to ITV this Saturday (27 August) at 8pm.
