I'm a super busy and very loving single mother of two daughters (aged 17 and 13). My passions in life have always been music and chocolate and after hitting 40 and realising I'd spent most of my life looking after everyone else, I decided it was now time for me. It was clear to me also that my long held dream of becoming a Rock Chick was unlikely to materialise, so I decided the next best thing would be to become a CHOC Chick and set up my raw chocolate business in 2008, with unique raw chocolate making kits, organic cocoa ingredients, recipes and everything you need to make delicious chocolates that are free from dairy, gluten, soya, processed sugars, additives and guilt!

It's now a week since I exhibited at the London the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at Olympia and I can finally feel my feet! Standing for 9 hours straight in heels (a must I'm afraid, as being only 5ft'3 it's hard to be seen otherwise!) for three entire days...

Being More Like Nigella

(0) Comments | Posted 4 August 2013 | (10:45)

When I first started my business five years ago, I was regularly told by people 'oh you can be the Nigella of chocolate!". My response would normally be flattery and amazement. Yes, I am Jewish, I do have dark hair, I am curvy (considerably curvier than Nigella) and am extremely...

More Cacao Butter Smashing and the Only Way Isn't Essex!

The cacao butter smashing saga continues I'm afraid and is the main reason why I'm been too busy to blog (well, actually my arms have been aching so much that I couldn't have typed even if I had the time!). When I last wrote, the husband and I had ventured...

The Joys of Being a Mum in Business and Smashing up Cacao Butter

(0) Comments | Posted 14 October 2011 | (00:00)

It's been a mad few weeks I have to say, trying to keep up with daily family life and running my business. As it happens I also just finished reading Allison Pearson's book "I don't know how she does it" and haven't stopped thinking how much like Kate Reddy's life...
