My mother met my dad on the Love Boat. Strangely it had no effect on me. I grew up to be a fan of comic book heroes, cartoons, things that go boom and writing, all of which magically combined to offer me a career.

I have worked for a variety of publications ranging from newspapers to men's magazines, who always seem quite taken with the way I see the world, its music, its football and its video games. UEFA also seem to enjoy my services and I do a little bit for them. As a local reporter for some Champions League shenanigans.

Personal career highlights include an afternoon with Iggy Pop, an evening with A.R.E. Weapons and a one line conversation with the father of one Lionel Messi. I told him they looked alike. They don't. He didn't get it. There was also this nomination one year, where I was told I was amongst the radio personalities of the year. Problem was, it wasn't me. It was this character of mine. But no one knew I was said character. He was funny.

Currently working on a book concerning my inabilty at getting on with the world, a script about a guy who meets another guy who knows another guy who's a bounty hunter and a recipe for a cake.

There were people congregating there. Milling about, staring solemnly at the blackened walls and the collapsed ceilings that you could just make out behind the metal sheeting that was there more as a deterrent for the homeless than for anything else.

Strangely, some of them, quite a few of...
