Why Not Norwood?

(3) Comments | Posted 20 April 2016 | (15:37)

At the start of the year, my fiancé and I bought our first London flat together. (Cue round of applause.) We thought it was a lost cause. After proposing to me in September, the thought of saving, what £20k for a wedding ? plus £60k (AND THE REST) to move...

It's My Wedding, Please Lie to Me

(0) Comments | Posted 16 December 2015 | (13:15)

My partner and I have been to so many weddings our friends take the piss. If I can't do something, their initial reaction is 'do you have a wedding/ hen do/ engagement party?' We must be great guests. We treat every wedding as a blessing to be invited. To us,...

Should Friendships Be 'Worked' At?

(2) Comments | Posted 16 October 2015 | (00:00)

My parent's marriage ended when I was 12. So, I've always had the attitude that love and relationships are to be worked at, something I blamed them both for not doing.

No one can say I haven't worked at my relationships. I've forgiven when needed, been patient when pushed,...

Bridesmaid Advice: Part Deux

(0) Comments | Posted 1 July 2015 | (00:00)

After my recent blog about bridesmaid advice, which focused mainly on the hen do shenanigans, I figured that I should do a part two but this time, focusing on the day of your best friends wedding.

It all starts the night before, when you have a polite drink with the...

This Sunday we showcased our short film Not Sophie's Choice to a packed out theatre of 140 eager beavers. It's a black comedy starring Catherine Tate and Alex MacQueen and although only a six minute short, its been months of effort by our small team of myself the writer and...

Respect the Extroverts/Introverts

(0) Comments | Posted 6 May 2015 | (00:00)

Today at work I was asking advice from my colleague about how I can 'be easier' around the team I work with. I am massively over-sensitive a lot of the time but sometimes I'm genuinely aware that I can sense when someone isn't into me and am modest enough to...

My Dead Brother....

That's an attention grabbing title eh?

11 April this year will make it thirteen years since my big brother Gavin was killed in a car crash. He was driving back from the pub (not drunk) with his friends through the country roads in Wetherby, Yorkshire which proved too bendy and...

Friends are like fashion...

I'm a right Sensitive Sally, and get sad to think that in life, people come and go. Whether its having too much time on my hands, or just that natural turning 30 transition, I seem to find myself at a bit of a crossroads with some of my friends.

Why My Year Starts in February

(0) Comments | Posted 15 January 2015 | (15:51)

January is a long, cold, poor ass month. We arrive into it hungover and usually skint from Christmas, and worst still, it is this month we choose to say to ourselves we will do all those things, start all those things, stop all those things we struggled to do or...

Turning 30

(1) Comments | Posted 23 October 2014 | (20:55)

Thought I'd share on something in the hope that I'm not the only one to feel like it.

I can already hear my older friends grown at the title of this blog. I'll probably get a few "wait until you hit 40/50" comments. And rightly so I guess.

Here's the...

Cat Lovers

A few Thursdays ago (on the 9th October) my cat Gilbert (she's a girl cat with a boy name, get over it, we're retro) went missing.

I let her out at 9pm and instead of her rocking up at 6am at our...

The usual celeb suspects were there, and as a huge fan of Towie/...

Ever Fancy Escaping the City and Getting Some Space?

(0) Comments | Posted 23 September 2014 | (17:27)

I love London. Hard. It makes me happy with its culture, people, diversity, but 'my oh my' sometimes I just need some SPACE. I get home from work (after 8pm usually) and get snug in my small but shockingly expensive one bed flat with the partner and two kids (pets.)...

Tips for Attending The Edinburgh Festival

Sup. I am back from the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. (I am aware they do more than comedy, but frankly I have never seen a show there not starring a comedian so refuse to admit it, sorry dancers/ actors/ acrobats.)

I am spotty, bloated and exhausted. It is my 5th visit...

How Much Are YOU Worth?

(0) Comments | Posted 10 June 2014 | (14:27)

Had a stressful week (as I type this on Tuesday) and it's got me thinking about SELF WORTH.

I'm a believer in karma. I also genuinely get a kick out of helping people and making people happy. Call me the younger, delectable Mother Teresa if you insist.

Lately though,...

Best Steak in London

Now, aside the brief period I went vegetarian when I was 8 years old for 6 months because my neighbour ripped a butterfly in half, I've always been a fan of meat (insert innuendo), and mostly importantly, steak.

I love everything about a steak supper. Good, red, yummy meat... the...

Just Be Positive

It's beautiful in London today. The sun is shining, the restaurants have put out their summer seating and there's just something in the air that says "order a pimms" at lunch. So, why is it, that I feel glum today?

I am a natural born worrier. If I am not...

At the ripe age of 29 (and a half) I have decided to learn to drive. Again. At 18 I started lessons back home in Northampton, and nearly crashed. A lot. In the space of a year, I took two tests, failed both and badly too. In one test I...
