When it comes to planning the big day, there's nothing so hard as choosing the wedding venue. get it right and the day runs smoothly - get it wrong and you can land yourself with an expensive bill for mediocre service.

1. Guests galore or a small gathering?

When you set a date, make sure you and your partner will be able to get time off work, that the date is not clashing with anything major in your extended family's calendar - and that it's the time of year you want to get married.
