Four years ago, I had a gastric bypass operation and lost about eight stone, reaching my target weight in less than a year. Two years ago, I decided I was going to run the London Marathon, which I did, in April 2011. I raised £6,000 for charity and have completed various running events since then to raise money for other causes close to my heart. In between times, I met my fiancé on Twitter, and am getting married in September 2012. I am your typical Londoner in some ways, nothing to moan about but never stop moaning.

The Day I Crossed the London 2012 Olympic Finish Line

On 31 March 2012, I made history. Okay, so I made history along with 4,999 other people, but it was history nonetheless. I was amongst the first to cross the finish line of the track in the London 2012 Olympic Stadium.
