This Is Our Chance To Change The Direction Of Our Country

It's fair to say that a lot has happened since May 2015. We've had a Conservative-majority government. We've had Brexit. We've had Trump. We've had an unelected Prime Minister. On Thursday 8th June, we have our chance to change the direction of our country. The only way we can do that is by voting for the Liberal Democrats.

Now much has been made of Tim Farron's view of homosexual sex. The question continually posed to Tim Farron is fundamentally flawed. That is because the question ignores what really matters.

There are two things that really matter.

The first, whether homosexual sex is a sin, is pretty easy to answer. In the Bible, chapter 18, verse 22 of Leviticus references the exact action and says one "shall not lie with a man as one lies with a woman". The Bible, therefore, considers it a sin. The second question that matters is whether Tim Farron believes that homosexual sex is bad. A quick look at Tim Farron's voting record on LGBT Rights demonstrates his general support for the key issues affecting members of the LGBT community. In 2013, Tim Farron voted in favour of same sex marriage. In 2014, Tim Farron voted for allowing the courts to deal with proceedings for the divorce of same-sex married couples. In 2014, Tim also voted to allow members of the Armed Forces outside of the United Kingdom to have a same-sex marriage. It's pretty obvious then that Tim Farron is a friend of the LGBT community.

It is also evident that the witch hunt surrounding him has been fuelled by a Labour Party so desperate to hold on to supporters in key Lib Dem/Labour marginal seats that they have stooped to smear a political rival.

The difference between the three major parties in U.K. Politics is stark.

Theresa May's Conservative Party want to take us back to the 1950s and reverse all the social progress we have made since then.

Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party want to take us back to the 1970s and reverse all the economic progress that has been made since.

Both parties seem lost in looking back to a time now lost to us.

Only the Liberal Democrats look forward to the opportunities and challenges that a globalised world bring us. Only the Liberal Democrats are willing to change the direction of our country from intolerance, close-mindedness and division to a country and society that is open, tolerant and united.
