The Hypocrisy of Achievement

Recently a nugget of wisdom mentioned in Back to the Future has come to mind. I love the film, but this statement encapsulates a belief in achievement that is particularly pervasive in American society but is popular throughout the Western world.

If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.

The Unsatisfied Unconsumer

I'd like to be a satisfied unconsumer. I've given up on the prospect of ever becoming a satisfied consumer since consumerism in itself is reliant on the consumer always wanting more. I'd like to get more joy from things that don't cost anything and to a certain extent I do....
