Canadian born Joanne Shurvell has lived in London since 1996 where she has been Marketing Director at various book publishers including Oxford University Press and Orion, a dotcom, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
With business partner James Payne, Joanne opened PayneShurvell, a contemporary art gallery in Shoreditch in June 2010. PayneShurvell is a commercial gallery, showcasing emerging UK and international artists and featuring work from all media.
In addition to running PayneShurvell, Joanne writes on the arts, culture and travel and is a partner in Helpfulwebhosting, a website and hosting service aimed at the creative industries.
