Transfer silly-season is still rolling on, but many Premier League teams have done their business early in the quest to improve for the coming campaign.
As ever, a host of established performers have been shuttled around different areas of the country as each club tries to build a side that will have a realistic chance of claiming the Premier League title.
But which new arrivals will have the biggest say in whether Chelsea are knocked off their perch next year?
Here are five summer signings who will have a significant impact on the destination of next season's Premier League trophy.
5. Petr Cech
Arsenal have been on the lookout for a world class 'keeper since the days of David Seaman and it looks as if they might have finally found one in Petr Cech.
Jose Mourinho did not want to let one of his most faithful servants leave the club, but Cech was not happy to sit on the bench behind Thibaut Courtois for the majority of the Premier League campaign.
It seems odd that Arsenal should profit from a Chelsea squad that has too many good players, but Wenger took advantage of the situation and now has one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeper in the league.
The Frenchman has overseen a raft of inconsistent stoppers come in and out of the club since he took over in 1996, but he may finally have found a 'keeper that will once again put the Gunners in contention for the Premier League trophy.
4. Bastian Schweinsteiger
Schweinsteiger is a winner in every sense of the word. With Bayern Munich and Germany he has swept up the awards and there is little remaining that he hasn't already got his hands on.
He has been at the hub of Bundesliga winning sides, Champions League winning sides and World Cup winning sides and just the idea of playing alongside him should be enough to raise Manchester United up a level.
In recent years, the Red Devils' central midfield has often been criticised as being too lightweight. It might have been true once, but not anymore.
In central midfield Louis van Gaal now has Morgan Schneiderlin, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini to choose from, as well as Schweinsteiger. There won't be many games next year that United's midfield does not completely dominate.
3. Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling has had more than one jibe directed at him since his £49m move from Liverpool to Manchester City, mostly targeting the fact that many believe he will spend the season on the bench.
Quite to the contrary though, despite the inflated fee, Sterling is exactly what City's attack needs.
For all of their intricate play flowing through the peerless David Silva, City can sometimes become unstuck by a packed defence - something which Sterling's direct play and pace will help to stretch.
Jesus Navas was meant to remedy this problem, but was too inconsistent. Sterling should prosper where the Spaniard floundered, especially when playing around the likes of Silva and Sergio Aguero.
City's newest addition was magnificent when playing alongside Luis Suarez, so knitting together with Silva and Aguero should help him reach that level once more.
2. Radamel Falcao
Many of you may scoff at this selection given the Colombian's troublesome times with Manchester United last season, but if anyone can rejuvenate his career then it's Jose Mourinho.
The Chelsea boss has shown immense faith in Falcao by taking him on loan as back-up for Diego Costa and will perhaps hope the two can rekindle the sort of form they shared while at Atletico Madrid together.
While Falcao was a shadow of his former self last season, the sort of talent that he possesses does not simply disappear overnight.
He will be second choice to Costa next season, but will still have a pivotal role to play as backup forward and his goals (or lack of) could be a deciding factor in Chelsea's quest to retain their Premier League crown.
1. Christian Benteke
Now, nobody is seriously suggesting that Liverpool are ready for another tilt at the title following last year's debacle of a campaign, but that does not mean that they won't have a say in who else wins it.
Although Christian Benteke is unlikely to be holding the Premier League trophy aloft with his Reds team-mates next year, he will still be instrumental in knocking points off other title contenders.
Liverpool is one of those trick fixtures that nobody chasing the Premier League crown looks forward to and with the immensely quick and powerful Belgian leading their line next term, defenders will hardly be relishing the prospect of a trip to Anfield.
