Joe Harland
Joe Harland is Head of Visualisation, BBC Radio 1 & Radio 1Xtra, with responsibility for all video content.

Born and raised in Marlow, he studied at the University Of Kent where he presented his own programme on UKC radio, later becoming a football commentater for Invicta Radio. In 1995 he started as an Independent Producer making documentaries for Radio 1 and Radio 2, before joining the Evening Session in 1998.

Since then he has produced Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe amongst others before taking up a role as Executive Producer overseeing the stations specialist output - garnering several Sony Awards for his shows along the way.

More recently Joe has led Radio 1 and 1Xtra's documentaries alongside The Review Show and The Surgery as well as combining personal and professional passions with events such as Metallica Night, Muse Night and Most Hip Hop.

Once upon a time everyone knew who was No. 1. My mates, my Mum and probably your Mum too - knew if Blur had beaten Oasis, and whether the Spice Girls had managed to get their sixth chart topper in a row.
