Heineken Uses Non-Actors in Legendary Campaign

How does this legendary ad rank amongst the rest of the Heineken flock then? It has all the love it or hate it swagger that some of their previous spots contain but coupled with a great message to men out there with even the most quirky and seemingly pointless skills.

No strangers to the epic advert, Heineken have put together a crack team of 20 non-actors to star in their latest piece of video marketing, proving that every man can be legendary given a crab claw, a banister or conga-line to get involved with.

Moving away from the lone eccentric wonder-man that the beer brand has portrayed in past adverts this time we see a boat load of men getting up to all kinds of magic onboard an incredibly vibrant cruise.

Sandrine Huijgen, Global Communications Director HEINEKEN, commented:

"Our Legends campaign is an entertaining homage to our drinkers and their legendary behaviours. We are convinced that many of our drinkers out there have at least one legendary talent. They just need a chance to show it to the world. This is why we decided to offer our next film, The Odyssey, as an opportunity for 20 young men to show us what they've got. And they are all legendary."

Like something out of the Prestige (spoiler alert) we see one man morph into twenty others as a spins, slides and struts around the decks.

The piece was filmed by Weiden + Kennedy Amsterdam in a car park by the beach in Barcelona and as well as featuring some obviously brilliant post-production work the ad required a special diver to hit a 10ft pool from such a height.

A great trick reveal as well for anyone who gets stuck without a bottle opener when near a seafood buffet. Grab some crab dudes.
